Road Tripping around Danmark

Copenhagen is a beautiful city and there are definitely plenty of things to do but if you have a chance I would 100% recommend renting a car and taking a road trip to see the rest of what Danmark has to offer. While more spread out the country areas of Danmark has their own charm and jaw-dropping castles that are amazing to explore. One long weekend friends and I sat out to do just that and found ourselves having to drive in a foreign country and learn how fast kilometers per hour are.

For the road trip, we decided to go to our furthest destination first and visit Odense. Odense was a small beautiful city with pots hanging from building to building. It was also the closest city to my favorite castle, Egeskov. The castle looked like a scene from the fairy tale but had a scary twist with a haunted doll located in the attic.

The next day we stopped in Roskilde and spent some quality time relaxing from our long drives. We also looked out and found a hostel that was individual cabins and made some good memories together in our cabin. The following day was our last day of the road trip and we visited both the Frederisksborg and Kronborg Castle. Fun fact Kronborg is the inspiration for the castle in Hamlet. We then ended our 3 day trip with a stop at IKEA because who doesn't love Swedish meatballs.
